Curd Brothers was founded in 1960 by Bob and Alan Curd in Linden Close, Tunbridge Wells, with Bob Law joining as their first employee around 1962. The Curd Brothers quickly built a reputation for providing high-quality repairs and spare parts to the auto-electrical trade, establishing a strong foundation for their business.
In 1965, Bob Smith came on board, and as their excellent service continued to attract customers, Curd Brothers became the go-to destination for any auto-electrical issues. David Smith joined in 1971, followed by Tim Smith in 1978, fueling the booming business. Upon the retirement of Bob and Alan Curd in 1987, the Smith brothers purchased the company and relocated to its current location on Colebrook Industrial Estate, with Bob Law retiring in 1988. Remaining a family-run company, Curd Brothers now includes Paul, the nephew of David and Tim, and Tracey, David's daughter, among its employees. In January 2007, Bob Smith retired and moved to Blackpool with his family.
